Lo Smithsonian American Art Museum ha in preparazione una mostra intitolata "The Art of Videogames".

In occasione di questa mostra, che si terrà nel 2012, dal 16 Marzo al 30 Settembre, hanno aperto una pagina apposita (http://www.artofvideogames.org) dove tutti possono votare (previa registrazione, gratuita ed immediata) ai propri giochi preferiti nelle 5 "Ere videoludiche" proposte: 

• ERA 1 : Dal 1970 ai primi anni 80
• ERA 2: 1983 - 1989
• ERA 3: 1989 - 1994
• ERA 4: 1995 - 2002
• ERA 5: 2003 - Oggi

A partire dalla seconda "era" , Sega ha sempre avuto un ruolo da protagonista e vi riporto un elenco dei giochi riportati legati a Sega (dei quali è publisher, sviluppatore o semplicemente sono stati pubblicati su una propria console), tra i quali in grassetto quelli legati a Sonic che potrete votare:
